By the sea!

Today I gave my new, but very vintage, navy blue coat an outing by the sea in Munkkiniemi!

It goes perfectly with orange, doesn't it!

We had tea and a cheesecake in the lovely Torpanranta and walked a little in the sunshine!
I love spring, love everything about it!

Happy Sunday evening everybody!

Easter!

Hellohello!
Long time no see, my friends!
I've been keeping myself busy with thoughts of summer, planning our little garden, and running around in my latest favourite: the recycling center!
Oh man that place is a treasure!
You all know how I fancy flea markets, nostalgia and the general idea of old things, so now being in a completely new situation of having an own yard, I've been thinking of how to make it look like us.
All these big outdoor markets are filled with huge garden furniture which didn't feel at all tempting. They're modern and somehow too 'clean' for my taste! I need something edgier, more comfortable, colourful, cute, shabby but chic!!
So the recycling center answerd to my cry and here's the result so far!

Finds no. 1
Two completely blown-up wooden chairs which I painted, and now they're brand new!
I don't have a before-picture, I was too anxious to start the project, shoot!

This is what's been bothering me during this Easter-week in general:
I have no patience! I can't wait! Fingers are itching! Too much exitement!!

Finds no. 2
Lots of pillows, and a bunch of old retro kitchen towels and pillow cases which I sew together to a quilt-like cover!

This is how it looked before.
Our home is an old wooden house from the 30's, and these old furniture was here when we moved in.
They're cute but very red, so a little pimping can make them look like something else!

Like this perhaps!

This how I started:
A fleece cover inside, the old fabrics to the front, and a white bed linen to the back. Perfect for cuddling in it too if it gets chilly!

I'm so happy about this!
Recycling is smart in every possible way and doesn't cost much either! Hooray!

Then another thing: I'm facing a big challenge with gardening, so a session with the wiser (my dear Mother and aunt) took place and we drove to get flowers and pots and such!

There's still a lot to do and I can't wait to get green leaves in the trees or to see what will pop up in the garden!
Like I said, it's so exiting!
Too exiting!!

This will just be one loooong spring in our household..

I will keep you posted my dears, hugs!

Random!

Last week we visited a new coffee shop in Punavuori!
Two charming young ladies have founded Café Kuuma in Pursimiehenkatu, and off we went!

Coffees, raw food, cakes especially, and super healthy juices and shots!

Our friend here was brave enough to take the super-hot lemon-ginger shot, and in my glass you can see a carrot-lemon-ginger-apple juice! Yummy!

A new set of korvapuusti coming up last weekend!
My sweet husband has a soft spot for these babies and I just loooove to pamper him!

Myself I have a soft spot for our new kitchen! Loooove to pamper myself too!

Today I took a walk after work. My heart was overwhelmed by the sun, the neighbourhood, the singing birds, SPRING!!!

...and evening tea in Villa Angelica, so pretty!

PLUS a neat new turban I found from Frida Marina!
Just add a cool pair of shades and I'm ready for the summer! Wohoo!

Lots of laughter, smiles, black nail polish, heavy metal attitude, talk, sparkling, food, ah!
I am so grateful for this group of such radiant ladies, it's just amazing!
Will be voting for friendship and girl power forever!!

The Vibskov exhibition!

Two days ago I had a date with my sweet little friend in the Design Museum!
She suggested we'd go see the exhibition of the great Dane, enfant terrible Henrik Vibskov, and I was with her immediately!
My friend is quite a designer herself, she'll do big things in the future, mark my words!
Afterwards we had lunch in Tori, so lovely to spend a luxurious day out, the sun was shining too!
Thank you, my sweet little angel, for your company and idea, it was a day of fun!!

There was a lot of fashion show sets, big and cool ones, from his past shows.
He does a lot more than just clothes and it seems to me his shows are like huge installations altogether in which the clothes only play one part.
It was really refreshing and interesting, I liked a lot what I saw, almost surreal stuff, strong colours, weird things, yes, me likey!!

There she is!
Hugs, sweetie!!
