Moison oh-so-pretty!

One of these days I took a walk to Oulunkylä. I had spotted this little pearl already before but didn't have time to step in then, so now I was keen to make my first visit!

This sweet little shop is also a café, so I got myself a whole pot of delicious white tea and sat down. I had a lovely chat with the owner, such a warm and lovely lady, who's carefully chosen the prettiest things from candles and beautiful scarves to home decor. There's even a children's corner with toys and doll's house furniture!
It's a perfect gift shop weather you need something to bring someone or just something to pamper yourself with!

I loved the atmosphere and everything I saw with my one eye!

I love places like these, and to find one so close to home is great! I could sense that Moison has become like a little living room for people who pass by on their way to home, work, food shop, where ever! And now I'm definitely going to become one of those people too!

New chapter!

Hello Lovelies!

I thought to cheer up this blog of mine a bit! What do you think?
I might still do some changes, let's see how my eye gets used to the new outlook.

I've still got a little bad news, I'm now suffering from quite a serious eye infection called iritis. I have such strong medication for it that I can't see properly with my left eye, so I'm looking like this at the moment:

Had to pose a little, I don't want to seem too miserable... I have to stay home for quite a while now, it takes a long time to heal.
But I decided to focus on the positive side, and refreshing things over here is one of them!

Otherwise home has been sweet and husband has pampered me with the products of the Halme Bakery...!
Let there be rain, wind, and falling leaves, I'll keep myself warm under the blanket and send you guys strength in your tasks.

Hugs everyone!

I'm allowed to make little walks as long as they're not sweaty ones, so Yesterday I gave an outing for my newish golden sneakers!
I found them from summer sales in June, and now was the perfect moment to wear them.
A small detail that gave me a little something to be glad about!

P.S.
I also changed my bio a bit. The truth is I'm getting a lot closer to forty than thirty real soon, so I thought it's appropriate... I find it a little hard to believe but it's true!
You can find the bio plus archives and identifiers on the right side of the page!

Peroba!

My latest infatuation lies in Leppävaara, Espoo, next to Kehä I, close to the exit to Lintuvaara:

Peroba Café!

The story is intriguing:
My Mother's childhood home was situated in Leppävaara, in a beautiful area filled with pretty houses, big yards and big, old trees. This place no longer exists, it's been built up completely, but the hill is still there.
I remember years ago when the new buildings had risen already, we'd still climb the rocks with my Mom, sister, aunts, uncles and dearest Grandmother to make a toast for old times sake!
I remember the house too, it was big, it had many rooms, and through the kitchen window we'd all roam to this beautiful patio my Grandfather had built to have juice in the summer! A house that made us cousins' imaginations fly! Surely there would've been an exit to Narnia too, we just never found it!

On the other side of the cliffs was a beautiful, red, wooden villa called Villa Ylänne. My Grandmother remembers my aunt's class mate lived there once, I remember the house too but only from far.
Now it has got a new life: Peroba Café has moved in!

The same Peroba that has the beautiful interior design shop in Fredrikinkatu downtown!
And oh my, have they done an amazing job! A cultural deed, to say the least!
A complete renovation from head to toe, ceilings, walls, floors, doors, everything! They serve very popular lunches and brunches with serious eye candy in the form of beautiful, old fireplaces and beautiful, spacious rooms.
This place is definitely worth visiting, here's the address:

Laturinkuja 10, Espoo

Let's have look inside!

I've visited this place now twice, first for a lunch with my Grandmother, and now my dear Mother's birthday. Really good food, dreamy cakes, teas, coffees, with such kind service, it's a gem!

Have a beautiful, sunny evening!

P.S. I'm feeling a lot better already! But for crying out loud, as if to prove my point about the font-issue...damn!
I've sent feedback to blogger, let's hope it's ok now.
Love & light, dears!

Life on a Tuesday

When I started this blog I made some ground rules: always stay positive, always search for beautiful and pretty things, and never complain.
The truth is everybody has good times and bad times, and days are filled with different kinds of challenges.

I've had to face mine too, and I'm now going to make an exception in listing two things that bug me a lot at the moment:

Nro 1.
I've developed myself a repetitive strain injury which prevents me from going to work and playing the clarinet.
It's a sum of many things, mostly too much work and not enough rest combined with not enough activity. When you get tired it feels impossible to get yourself up and going even though you know it would do a lot of good to you.
PLUS I'm not as young anymore as I used to be!!
I've never had any problems before.
This is a wake up call to me, my body is reacting and that is something I seriously need to listen!
So instead of throwing myself on the floor and crying "I'm getting old!!!!", I act like an adult, and start taking good care of myself, right?!

I have an appointment with the same osteopath I've had treatments before with, and we're going to make a treatment plan for me.

Also, I just came from the swimming hall where I had a total feel-good-hour-and-a-half with sauna.

Like Annie Lennox sang "The only way is up" is going to be my mantra this week.
Yes indeed.

Nro.2
I seriously dislike when the blog application changes the font on its' own not asking me at all!!!
If I want to emphasize sentences or words, I want to do it myself!

It's also a visual thing. To me it looks tacky and gives a little bad overall picture.
So, sorry for the tackiness, I'll try to solve it somehow!

There. Phew. That felt good!
Thank you for listening!
Let's not wait for New Year's to make good resolutions for the future, let's make them now!
I try to listen to my body better from now on, and give it good excersice regularily. That's the challenge to me: regularily.
I'll do my best.
One day at the time, day by day.

And last, here's ofcourse something pretty for you that gave me inspiration today. After my swim I had lunch in Café Kardemumma and continued for a cup of tea to the sweetest little shop/café Olohuone in Fleminginkatu.
This place is a full experience that pampers your soul and puts a smile on your face!!
And here I am, writing this post to you!

Hugs everyone!

Love!

This weekend has been so beautiful!
It was our wedding anniversary and we spent it in the summer cottage.

I know nothing more peaceful, more beautiful than this place.
Mind is at ease the minute we get here.
The crispy, misty Autumn mornings, the bright stars, candle lights and the sound of the fireplace in the evenings.
Falling asleep with the safest of feelings.
With the man I love so much.

I feel blessed and grateful.

New Café!

In the spring a new cafè opened its' doors in Vallila:

Kahvila Suvanto!

One of my dearest friends lives closeby and she'd already visited, so ofcourse we made a date there asap!
This took place in July in one of the warmest days, and it is the sweetest thing to remember now!

I liked the enterior and the atmosphere, and their chocolate cake was goood!
They serve breakfast too with porridge, muesli and such, and is situated in the corner of Suvannontie and Mäkelänkatu. Beautiful Puu-Vallila is right around the corner!

I thought this place would be the perfect place to sit down and just be, read a book or chat with a friend on a rainy Autumn-day!
I want more places like these!!

Afterwards I walked a little in the sweet streets of Puu-Vallila!

Go visit Suvanto, you'll like it for sure!

Flea markets & apples!

Hello there!

Autumn has really started, it's the first day of September, and work is on, full speed! There's always a little transition from the holiday mood to work mood but I'm getting there...yes I am!

Also my blog posts seem to be fewer and fewer but I'm still here, that's for sure!
Hope you're all doing fine, I'm hoping for some beautiful, sunny, and crisp days for the beginning of the new season so that we'll have the energy to work hard!

Last weekend was so nice. The rain finally stopped for a while and the sun came out!
I participated in Siivouspäivä with a sweet friend, we spent the whole day in Karhupuisto selling stuff, chatting, and eating a delicious apple pie she'd made!
It was a good sale too, I got more room in my closet, and all the sweet buyers got something new to fill theirs with!
Recycling is such a good and clever way to renew yourself, your home, your everything!

We picked our spot in front of beautiful flowers!

I was wearing my new jacket, a pale green easy-to-throw-on coat! I love it!

Yesterday we drove to the summer cottage, such a beautiful visit which made us a little sad for not having enough time to enjoy the place this summer.
But it'll always be there, perhaps we'll make a proper weekend visit during this Autumn. It would be so nice!

We (or sweet husband really!) planted an apple tree in the yard, and we're hoping to get big, sweet apples one day!

On our way back we stopped by at my uncle's place, also the childhood home of my father, to get apples from slightly older apple trees!
These trees are big and impressive, and in the spring the whole yard turns into a secret garden when the trees blossom! And when the Autumn comes, they provide us all so much delicious treats it's almost unbelievable!

See you soon lovelies, let's have a good week!
