A new pair of...

...Melissa's!!

Being a Brazilian brand, I came across this fun and pretty pair on a rainy day in São Paulo!
They came in very handy I must say, and I like them a lot, yay!

When we got to Rio I saw two Melissa-shops, we went in one of them but only had some five minutes to stop there before leaving! Criminal!

But I got my one pair, and am happy for it!

A small crisis & the last day!

For heaven's sake I've been so irritated these past days!!
Something went wrong again with the application for the blog and I couldn't post pictures! Words were ok but pictures not. I started to upload them to my computer for a post and it occurred that not only is the hard drive completely full, it needs some kind of an update so that my phone can connect with it, and once I tried to upload it, it tells me it's too old for that!!
My sweet, pretty white Macbook has gotten too old!!
It's been with me for seven years!
Maybe that means ancient but it still works just fine!
It bugs me that these things go forward so fast that now it seems all I can do is buy a new one! Or actually, they're MAKING me do so if I still want my gadgets to be in synch. And what's more important to me than my music and my photos?? Well a few things alright but still!
Maybe it's me who's ancient. Anti-computer-hi-fi-non-specialist me. Crap. That's what I'll say.
Anyhow, I sent feedback to google and honestly I don't know was it that or something else but now the app seems to be fine! But the issue with the computer still worries me a bit. Let's see.

But the best part is being home again!!
Quite jet-lagged but safe and sound, and in my darling husband's arms!!
It's been wonderful, I've gotten to sleep a lot, unwind and breathe the fresh autumn air of our sweet homeland which I love so much!!
Sandals changed into rubber boots but that's fine. I'm home now and this is where my heart is, this is where I belong.

Now some pics from our last day in Rio!
As I told you we had a sightseeing tour planned. It was amazing. We went all the way up to the Sugarloaf Mountain to see some breathtaking views!
We took a cable car, first 250m to the first hill, then 350m to the mountain itself. It was quite a rise, I couldn't look down at all. But once there the scene in front of us was amazing!

Destination Sugarloaf!

You can see the Cristo Redentor opposite on the other side. It looked really small but there it was!

Copacabana!

On the way down the sky started to clear up!

...just in time for a visit to the Copacabana beach this time in daylight!

Afterwards there was still time for lunch and the last caipirinhas in some really beautiful cafès!
Off we went to the airport and the plane that took us home!

Thank you sweeties!!!

Oh, sweet Rio!!

By the time we got to the amazing city of Rio de Janeiro, we were so tired but completely intoxicated by everything that awaited us! We got high already from the view from the plane: the hills that surrounded the city, the endless beaches, the Cristo Redentor overlooking the city from the Corcovado mountain... Once on the ground the heat wave slammed against us, we saw the rooftop pool of our hotel, felt the hectic and intriguing beat of the streets, and for crying out loud there was a concert to play on that very same day!!!
Concentration went to a serious test!!
As a relief it soon accured it was bank holiday and everything was closed! The shops, the restaurants, everything, shoot!
We had lunch at the hotel restaurant buffet and since it was a quiet day, it was almost ok to rest a little before the concert...

First look around!

I really had to pinch myself to remind me this is a work trip, this is a work trip, this is a work trip...
And off we went to Teatro Municipal for our final concert of the tour.
It was a beautiful place, the concert was excellent, we got a standing ovation, the audience was so wonderful!
It was the perfect way to end the tour, the perfect city of all!

Sketches of original Sacre du Printemps costumes and masks were on display backstage, maybe they'd performed it there in the near past! One of my absolute favourite pieces of all time!

Waiting for the concert to start...

Afterwards we gathered up a big bunch of people and headed down to COPACABANA!!
Oooooh!
It was all dark already, and after some well deserved caipirinhas and dinner we took a stroll at the beach!
It was surreal!
We tried to stay up for as long as possibile but eventually the tiredness took over. It had been one 24 hours alright starting from the last concert in São Paulo!
Off to bed and towards the next day with a sightseeing tour and a flight home!

Oh man it was something!!
We were discussing the next day that not since our twenties had there been an exitement of these proportions in our lives! Screaming and running around like there was no tomorrow, a collective craziness that just took over!
It was the spirit of Rio, or maybe the caipirinhas, I don't know, same difference I suppose!
But oh how happy I was to experience that!! I'm not all grown up yet, phew!!

Bye-bye Sampa!

Early this morning we'll leave São Paulo, Sampa by nickname, behind.
It's been an experience altogether, concerts were good and sunshine was sweet, but many thoughts arose concerning this huge, immence city.

Next in line will be Rio...I'll keep you posted, good night dear ones!!

Pictures from today follows!

A walk in one of São Paulo's many parks was refreshing! Pure jungle, rain forest in the middle of the city was a beautiful thing to see! Lots of people walking, sitting on the benches, just taking some time off during the day!

Jammin' away in Avenida Paulista!

Sala São Paulo, built in an old railway station.

Bye for now, loads of thoughts, hugs and all things such!!

Time for a feria!

It's feria time, again!
Evidently it's big in Brazil as well, and oh how glad I was to notice that São Paulo can also be pretty and cozy, not just big, noisy and scary!
Of course every city has its pros and cons, but it's about finding the right spots!
And Yesterday we sure did!

A cab drive away was the cute neighbourhood of Jardim Paulista and a little further down Praça Benedito Calixto, where the feria took place!
Oh the sweetness of a Saturday afternoon!

Can you see me?

It was so nice to walk around, feel the weekend and the atmosphere, there was a band playing in a street corner, people would sit for a lunch or a brunch on the many terraces surrounding the park, lots of sunshine and good vibes!

All this gave us a wonderful experience and we walked back to the hotel to rest before the evening concert.

Relaxing!

When a tour is this long it's nice to just be and relax on your own too. Enjoy the hotel, the room, and try to make the best of it.
Baths, treats, a glass of wine, all things nice!
In this case the tv is out of the question, I've opened it once during this time, and Gwyneth Paltrow spoke Portugese in Shakespeare in love, so I left it there!

But there are other ways too...

Vogue Brazil!!!
